Two Bears Farm is a holistic, Eco-friendly working farm and retreat center just north of Durango on the east Animas River. Come join us for an afternoon or a week. With an orchard of over 80 apple trees and some fine river front fishing, Two Bears Farm is the perfect place to relax, re-imagine and refine. Stay at our well appointed guest house (sleeps eight), take a workshop or spend some time with the animals.
On the farm we have 30 raised beds, tilled gardens, a greenhouse and over 80 fruit trees, the majority of which are 75 year old heirloom apples, all holistically managed and chemical free.
Animals? We love our Kunekune pigs. We hope for our first litter of piglets this spring. We have a herd of Navajo Churro sheep, considered a rare breed that was brought to North America by the Spanish over 400 years ago. Rounding out the line-up, we also have Rex rabbits and French Angora rabbits.
Our Guest House is less than 50 yards from the river, sleeps eight, is fully furnished, has an exercise room with pool table, three bedrooms and a wood stove. Enjoy your coffee in the morning as the sun comes up over the red cliffs or pop into town for dinner.
We have a variety of workshops ranging from holistic farm management and feeding a family on 1/4 acre, soap making using essential oils and drum making. We also host workshops and events. Contact us for more details.
